December 2024 Newsletter

December—a month brimming with magic, reflection, and the chance to recharge your spirit.

If you’re anything like me, December often feels like a whirlwind. I always start with so many ideas for special things to do with my family, but before I know it, the month is over, and I haven’t done half of them. The holiday hustle has a way of sweeping us into “go, go, go” mode, and the pressure to do it all can quickly become overwhelming.

But what if this year, we approached December differently? Let’s slow down and savor the magic of the season. Stay home and bake those holiday cookies you’ve been craving. Watch delightfully cheesy Hallmark movies guilt-free. Wrap up in your coziest scarf, step outside, and soak in the beauty of twinkling Christmas lights. There’s something undeniably magical about their glow, isn’t there?

Most importantly, remember: it’s okay to say no. You don’t need to attend every event or check off every holiday to-do list item. Give yourself permission to pause and truly enjoy the small, meaningful moments. Here are a few simple ways to embrace mindfulness and stay present this holiday season.

Create a holiday simmer pot. Fill your home with cozy, festive scents by simmering a mix of oranges, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and cranberries on the stove. It’s like wrapping your senses in a warm holiday hug.

Bake something delicious. I love baking, especially during the holidays! On the weekend I attempted to make peppermint chocolate cookies and while they didn't turn out exactly as planned, they were still delicious! Baking can be a fun and meditative way to connect with the season.

Make your own ornaments. Use natural materials like pinecones, dried orange slices, or cinnamon sticks to create simple, handmade decorations. You can even incorporate crystals for an extra special touch!

Try holiday-themed meditations. Take a break from the holiday rush by listening to some guided meditations designed to help you center yourself amidst the season’s chaos. If you’re looking for a recommendation, feel free to reach out—I’d be happy to share where I go for guided meditations!

Let’s make this December unforgettable—not because of how much we do, but because of how present we are for its magic.
