You might have heard the term "grounded" but aren't entirely sure what it means. For me, being grounded means feeling safe, stable, and focused on the present moment, free from thoughts about the past or worries about the future. Grounding provides you with the stability needed to find your inner peace and calm. As someone who suffers from anxiety, I notice that when I'm not grounded, I become scattered, anxious, and easily overwhelmed. Everyday tasks start to stress me out, I begin overthinking every little thing and get overwhelmed by the amount of things that need to get done.
However, I've learned that when these feelings arise, it's important to take a few minutes for myself. I take a few deep breaths and remind myself that I am okay. Practices like meditation or getting out in nature also help me regain my sense of calm and balance. Strangely enough, my bracelets have also become a tool I use in these situations. When I'm feeling anxious and need to take my mind off things, I hold one of my bracelets in my hand and count the beads or simply fidget with them until I feel calm again. Another way I use my bracelets is by simply touching the bracelets I've chosen for the day, and reminding myself of the intention behind them. My Smokey Quartz and Red Jasper bracelets are my go-to choices when I'm feeling stressed or anxious. They serve as a gentle reminder that I am safe and grounded.
